Job Summary:
The Clinical Coordinator III reports to the Director of Oncology and is a credentialed Registered Nurse (RN) employed by Erlanger Health System. The Clinical Coordinator III is responsible for supervision of all clinical staff members in an Erlanger-owned physician practice. Performs in-office patient procedures under the supervision of the practice physicians.

This position oversees the various clinical and patient flow activities of the physician office, including maintaining proper scheduling requirements under residency program guidelines, recommending the hiring, termination and necessary disciplinary action pertaining to all clinical personnel including medical assistants, laboratory technicians, radiological technicians, licensed practical nurses and registered nurses employed within the clinic. In addition, this position provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of practice physicians to promote an effective learning/training environment. Other position functions include:
- Supervises all patient triaging functions
- Serves as lead OSHA representative
- Responsible for maintaining DNV compliance standards in all clinical areas
- Works with the Director in establishing yearly clinical budgets
- Responsible for financial and cost-effective management and stocking of clinical supplies, medications and equipment
- Maintains appropriate charge levels for patient evaluation encounters, outpatient procedures, injections, administration fees and medical supply charges
- Supports other general practice operations in collaboration with the Director
- Maintains patient confidentiality in all phases of clinical area.

The employee must be credentialed and able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide clinical care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the clinic. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective to the patient's status. Interpretation of the appropriate information is needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in established protocols.

This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation.

Education:
Required: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree.

Experience:
Required:
Minimum three years in a health/medical setting. Two years supervisory experience. Computer experience with MS Windows, Outlook and medical software applications.

Preferred:
Minimum 2 years in a physician's practice. Knowledge of medical billing including CPT and ICD 9 & 10 coding.

Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Required:
Current license to practice Nursing in the State of Tennessee. BLS completed prior to going to the unit/ department and maintained going forward and maintained going forward

Preferred: Valid license to practice registered nursing in the State of Georgia in addition to Tennessee.

The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a Tennessee license. However, the Tennessee nursing license will be a single state license for Tennessee Residents or non-compact state residents. Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.

Department Summary:

In addition, this position provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of practice physicians to promote an effective learning/training environment.
