As the RN Manager of Patient Care for PreOp/PACU, PSE and Endoscopy at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating seamless patient care, focusing on those with immediate post-acute care needs. This role ensures the highest standard of care is maintained across the continuum, working closely with physicians, care navigators, and both internal and external resources to deliver an integrated approach to patient transitions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of patient care in the PreOp/PACU, Presurgical Evaluation (PSE) and Endoscopy unit ensuring all aspects of post-acute care are addressed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement a comprehensive discharge plan, facilitating safe and effective transitions from inpatient care to post-acute settings.
  • Proactively address any payer-related issues that may impact patient care, navigating financial and insurance concerns with expertise.
  • Ensure patient and family engagement by confirming their understanding and agreement with the transition plan, and ensuring it is executed smoothly.
  • Leverage community resources and ancillary services to support patient needs and optimize outcomes through a holistic approach.

Qualifications
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • At least 5 years RN experience in critical care or acute care PACU, 2 of which in leadership.
Required Certification/Registration:
  • Current California RN License.
  • American Heart Association ACLS and BLS for Health Care Provider required.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • BSN highly preferred.
  • EPIC experience preferred.
  • PALS preferred or can be obtained within 6 months.
