Join Our Leadership Team as a PreOp/PACU RN Supervisor.

At Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care, and we are seeking a skilled and motivated RN Supervisor to lead our PreOp/PACU nursing team. In this role, you will uphold the highest standards of nursing practice while fostering a culture centered around patient safety and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Patient Care Manager to provide leadership and oversight of the unit, ensuring efficient daily operations.
  • Manage staffing plans, ensuring optimal coverage to support high-quality care delivery.
  • Oversee bed placement technology, patient transfers, and discharge processes, ensuring timely and safe transitions throughout the continuum of care.
  • Engage nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care, emphasizing seamless hand-offs to the next level of care.
This role is ideal for an experienced RN ready to step into leadership, offering a fast-paced and supportive environment that promotes professional growth.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of critical care or PACU experience in an acute care setting.
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Leadership: At least one (1) year of leadership experience, such as serving as a Charge RN.
  • Licensure & Certifications: Current California RN license; Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association.
  • Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and team development skills, with the ability to effectively plan, execute, and follow through on responsibilities.
  • Leadership Capability: Proven ability to exercise authority and responsibility in managing services, aligned with the organization's scope and the complexity of patient care.
  • Clinical Competency: Must possess all required competencies and certifications expected of a Charge RN within the unit.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with electronic charting systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical Experience: Experience with EPIC charting software.
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Licensure & Certifications: Pediatric Advances Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association or may be obtained within 6 months.
