This is a Full Time (72 hours every two weeks) benefited position, working 12-Hour Night shifts on varied days. Located at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.

This position is eligible for New Hire Incentives up to $7k.

We invite you to join our team of Registered Nurses striving for patient excellence in Surgical Acute 2 North at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for:

v Coordinating and consulting with members of the health care team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.

v Monitoring patients' progress towards goals of care and updating physicians on changes in status.

v Developing and fostering therapeutic relationships with patients to understand and advocate for their needs and assist in healing.

v Providing care for up to five medical-surgical patients by completing neurovascular assessments, performing wound care, monitoring drains, completing blood transfusions, inserting Foley catheters, titrating heparin drips, and analyzing EKGs.

v Be proficient in utilizing EPIC software to document interventions provided and record patient progress.

I n order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met :
  • Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
  • Must remain in original department/specialty
  • Must remain in original Job Title
  • Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Current CA RN License
  • One (1) year of recent RN experience.
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Certification
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
  • Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One (1) year RN experience in Acute, Long Term Care preferred
  • Previous acute RN experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
