Position: RN Unit Manager

Salary: $88k-$90k

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) in ensuring high-quality patient care for residents.
• Evaluate and oversee day-to-day operations of the Nursing Department in compliance with current regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure adherence to job descriptions by all nursing services personnel.
• Address complaints and grievances from department personnel, ensuring proper reporting to the Director of Nursing Services.
• Utilize leadership skills in managing an assigned unit effectively.
• Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to maintain adequate nursing coverage round the clock, minimizing the use of overtime and agency personnel.
• Implement progressive counseling and initiate disciplinary action as per facility and nursing policies.
• Provide professional guidance and supervision to unit staff.
• Attend committee meetings as required.
• Assume nursing responsibilities for weekend and holiday coverage upon request.
• Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of quality assurance activities.
• Demonstrate, teach, and evaluate nursing skills utilized in direct resident care.
• Assume responsibility for the completion of Minimum Data Set (MDS) on the unit.
• Assist in developing and implementing discharge plans in collaboration with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Prepare written reports, review records, and participate in data collection.
• Submit budget requests.
• Participate in staff recruitment and selection of nursing personnel.
• Ensure residents and families receive high-quality service in a caring and compassionate environment.

Requirements:

• Valid RN license in the state of Florida.
• Previous experience working in long-term care.
