Serve as subject matter expert for all rotating equipment engineering during the design, equipment selection, fabrication, testing and commissioning phase of projects
Develop Engineering standards and specifications for all types of rotating equipment
Review process inputs to spec out centrifugal pumps (slurry and non-slurry), positive displacement pumps, compressors, fans, blowers, turbines, gearboxes, rotary calcination equipment, etc
Complete design, HAZOP, model reviews and provide support to P&ID development
Ensure rotating equipment boundaries are well defined to include required auxiliaries including filter system, lube oil / seal oil system, heat exchangers and pressure relief devices
Select equipment health monitoring systems for condition monitoring and provide input to development of I&C logic to maintain high equipment reliability
Participate in project technical reviews and work with other lead discipline engineers to ensure that all equipment requirements are clearly defined and covered

Required Skills & Experience

Self-motivated team player with an inclusive nature and natural curiosity
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, relevant experience, or equivalent
Experience in rotating equipment design, selection, fabrication, installation and commissioning, preferably in the oil or mineral refining industry. Experience supporting Operations and Maintenance organizations will be considered an asset
Understand mechanical seal and bearings design and selection, foundation components (sole plates, base plates, grouting), and pump/driver selection and installation
Deep knowledge with relevant API, ANSI standards and reliability best practices.
Strong understanding of engineering principles and design calculations, with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
An understanding of capital project execution methodologies
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
