Job Summary Under supervision of an associate, senior or principal development engineer construct experimental prototypes, test apparatus, and demonstration models. Conduct other associated building science research and perform laboratory and/or field testing of energy-efficient technologies. Actively participate as a team member with CLTC professors, professional researchers, engineers, and others working on project tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Educational background in mechanical, electrical, civil or computer science engineering or combination education and related experience.
  • Experience solving complex engineering problems and documenting solutions.
  • Experience writing technical reports and engineering documents.
  • Experience working with mechanical and electrical components in a laboratory, industrial or other commercial setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing, operating, and maintaining experimental test apparatus in a laboratory or field setting.
  • Experience in design or fabrication of physical prototypes.
