Description of Job Duties
The Safety and Security Manager manages and provides for the safety and security of guests, employees, and hotel property in an effective, professional and guest-friendly manner commensurate with the demands of a Forbes rated hotel. Provides such services in accordance with legal requirements. Oversees continuous security rounds and inspections of all guest and back of house areas. Directs proactive hotel safety and loss prevention efforts, compliance trainings, hotel health, safety, and security certifications, and conducts investigations and provides timely follow-up concerning all hotel safety-related issues.
Core Functions
1. Adhere to Hyatt Hotels Corporation guidelines and core values to ensure the health, safety and comfort of our colleagues and guests.
2. Coordinate the duties of all Security department personnel, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and Alila Marea policies and safety standards. Coordinate the timely preparation of all Security logs, shift reports, and other permanent records.
3. Develop and manage secure, confidential record system that will allow immediate retrieval of incident reports, criminal trespass notices, photographs, and similar information.
4. Ensure delivery of quality security services to guests and hotel staff in a friendly and professional manner by directing and maintaining continuous physical property rounds by Security personnel.
5. Resolve, document, and track all security related issues or problems. Respond to all general liability insurance claims and workers' compensation claims. Conduct detailed investigations into work-related injuries. Review all reports regularly for completeness and accuracy.
6. Organize property Safety Committee and coordinate all monthly safety meetings. Work with hotel department managers to coordinate hotel safety program.
7. Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, reviewing, and coaching, of colleagues in order to maintain the highest possible level of colleague morale and department productivity.
8. Oversee scheduling of all Security personnel
9. Maintain adherence to Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control program. Train personnel regarding policies and procedures. Have appropriate equipment located at hotel.
10. Oversee the search, storage and return of all lost and found items.
11. Assist in maintaining and updating master files of all SDS information for all hotel departments. Ensure that all departments have correct information accessible to staff.
12. Assist in conducting an annual inventory of all chemicals used by all departments in the hotel.
13. Whenever feasible, rotate job assignments to expand each Security Officer's experience and understanding of various safety functions.
14. Coordinate and conduct First Aid, CPR, fire extinguisher, fire panel, fire drills, IIPP, and other safety orientation trainings for hotel and manage MyLearning trainings in accordance with Hyatt's training schedule.
15. Develop cooperative working relationships between Security/Safety staff and other hotel employees and outside law enforcement personnel to promote timely and effective exchange of information.
16. Supervise key control program Visionline, including master key distribution list, control of key blank purchases, and key production.
17. Maintain CCTV security system and radio equipment.
18. Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel, and communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
19. Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.
20. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Must have 2-3 years of supervisory experience in security setting.
• A thorough understanding of hotel safety and security processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn other Hyatt specific systems and applications.
• The ability to lead and mentor a team, comfort in training staff as well as coaching and counseling when necessary.
• Ability to read and write proficiently to evaluate reports, correspondence and statistical information.
• Proficiency of computer software to include Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as office equipment, i.e. telephone, copier, fax machine.
• Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints and within established deadlines, with particular attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.

• Frequent: Sitting, standing, walking throughout property, working on a computer, typing, filing, climbing stairs, and interacting with guests (speaking, listening, writing).
