The Sales & Event Services Manager functions under the supervision of and in coordination with
the General Manager. This position is responsible for the promotion and selling of event space and
other services to potential clients. Using strong communication and organizational skills, you will
work closely with the client, event planners and organizers to develop, schedule, coordinate and
communicate the needs of all events.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Drive revenue through new business opportunities and develop a strong client base;
responsible for growing and supporting corporate, association groups, festivals and
wedding business.
2. Actively develop leads and pursues new business both in the downtown area and the
broader metro area.
a. Example: Proactively reaching out to groups and ICWs exhibiting at the
convention center and surrounding hotels for opportunities to host events and
promotions during major conventions.
3. Maintains strong relationships with DMCs and Nashville CVC.
4. Utilize hospitality expertise to maintain relationships and knowledge of market trends,
competition, and customer base and with a strong focus on fostering business
relationships.
5. Continually engages with local caterers and meeting planners to ensure a robust pipeline
for future events.

6. Remains aware of the key revenue goals and targets of the department and focuses sales
opportunities to achieving these goals.
7. Communication services available to clients and promoters.
8. Work with clients and staff to determine event requirements, staffing needs, rates,
equipment needs and move-in/out days, etc.
9. Coordinates, arranges and documents event requirements requested by promoters,
agents and clients and communicates those to other employees and vendors to ensure
smooth event operations; ensures setups are done in accordance with lease
requirements, safety, fire and health codes and facility procedures.
10. Oversees event management services for all events.
11. Interacts with other facility staff to facilitate planning and scheduling of events and to
ensure efficient management of daily activities to assure the delivery of service.
12. Makes or arranges for last-minute adjustments in room or equipment set up at the
request of the lessee or to assure compliance with safety measures and prepares an
accurate statement of additional changes for settlement purposes.
13. Coordinates and directs contract and event support staff including security staff,
caterers, and decorators; provides functional supervision of event support staff
including setup crews.
14. Assumes responsibility for resolving problems during course of assigned events;
receives and responds to complaints.
15. Strives for excellence in maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records of all events,
expenses, revenues, and payments to external vendors and industry organizations.
16. Maintains records of individual events and collects statistical data on attendance and
usage; maintains mailing lists and event files.
17. Issues invoices, monitors receivables and is responsible for collections.
18. Maintains consistent, quality service as well as fostering a relationship of goodwill and
partnership with each client or group.
19. Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement
20. Serves as a liaison between venue, clients, and outside vendors to maintain Cannery
Halls growing reputation of having the friendliest, most hospitable staff.
Communicates and coordinates production requirements accordingly.

Required Skills & Experience

3 + years of sales & event services experiences working within hospitality or music industry
Knowledge of computer operations, including Microsoft Office programs
Bachelor's degree in related field

Music industry experience
