The Santa Susana Field Laboratory (SSFL) project is quickly moving into an exciting phase. Our dynamic, multidisciplinary team certified the final programmatic environmental impact report for SSFL in 2023. We are now developing cleanup plans for public review and comment and planning site-wide cleanup activities. The successful SSM II (specialist) candidate for this position will play a crucial role in moving the site into cleanup and optimizing project performance by being the cross-program coordinator, conducting process improvement evaluations, and optimizing the SSFL team's science communication. As a Staff Services Manager II (Supervisory) you will have the opportunity to:
  • Set up and maintain systems to track all deadlines and assists SSFL staff, managers, and executive staff in lean process improvements
  • Develop detailed complex project schedules and implement lean process improvements for numerous cleanup activities and tracks schedule compliance
  • Conduct, coordinate, and prepare reports on project status, budgets, and resource projections
  • Facilitate department's cross-program coordination for the SSFL project, including Executive Management, Office of Legal Counsel, Office of Communications, Office of Environmental Equity, Office of Legislation and Regulatory Review, Site Mitigation and Restoration Program, and CalEPA executive staff
  • Develop and maintain a central database for SSFL frequently asked questions on controversial issues for team member use
  • Develop and maintain a strategic plan for SSFL cleanup implementation including project tasks to be completed, due dates, deliverables, and milestones
