Scheduling Coordinator

Individuals placed in this role can expect to see around 20+ patients a day. Many of these patients are returning and it is common for schedulers to build relationships with patients. Working in oncology, a lot of these patients are in difficult situations and sometimes pass away - the clinic needs positive, kind and optimistic individuals to be successful with strong mental fortitude to succeed in this role. They will be trained my leads
Schedulers will eventually transition into scheduling (imaging, court placements, scans, admit to hospital for procedures)
We are looking for scheduling coordinators to provide support to their operations. Individuals placed in this role will act as the first point of contact for individuals looking to get patients entering the clinic as well as scheduling. They use their coordinators in a medical receptionist capacity as they are also responsible for checking patients for clinical and in-person appointments.
After a patient's visit, they will often look to get scheduled for an additional appointment. The majority of scheduled appointments facilitated through in-person communication, but there will also be instances where they schedule appointments through the phone as well. The coordinator will be scheduling patients for chemotherapy sessions, infusion sessions as well as office visits with their provider. The scheduler will be utilizing EPIC to complete these tasks.

700 Hours (contract-to-hire)

- Checking in patients for clinical appointments and operative procedures
- Scheduling office visits for patients and their respective provider
- Helping manage the clinic in basket - passing along messages to providers
- Answering the main line and providing telephonic scheduling support

3-5 Must Have Skills/Qualifications
- Previous Scheduling Experience within the scope of Healthcare
- 2 + years of experience within an ambulatory space
- High School Degree
