School Social Worker

A client of Insight Global is looking for a School Social Worker to sit in Pingree Grove, IL supporting a local Charter school. This individual will be responsible for the following:

* Provides crisis intervention on an as-needed basis

* Provides individual and/or group social work services for students whose emotional and/or behavioral difficulties interfere with their learning

* Completes evaluation documents including Social Developmental Studies and Behavior Rating Scales

* Evaluates students for potential school social work services

* Engaging in MTSS efforts using researched-based interventions

* Provides support to teachers and administrators: i.e consultation, brief classroom interventions, observations, and behavioral intervention plans

* Determines and evaluates the effectiveness of interventions attempted and redesigns the intervention plan as needed

* Helps students understand how to transfer newly learned skills into real-life settings

* Participates in the creation and distribution of weekly SEL lessons

* Attends various Student Services meetings

* Assisting with the development of IEP and 504 Plans for diverse learners

* Reports suspected abuse and neglect and cooperates in the subsequent DCFS investigation as mandated by law (only in cases when the school social worker is the initial person to suspect abuse or neglect)

* Maintains open and effective communication with administration, other staff members, and parents

* Maintains appropriate confidentiality when discussing student and family concerns

* Maintains regular attendance and exhibits punctuality

- Licensed Social Worker (Certified School Social Work Specialist, C-SSWS, LSW, LCSW)
- Experience working as a school social worker
