JOB SUMMARY:

Seat Design & Certification Engineers play a crucial role in the design, development, and testing of aircraft seats and their installations. They prioritize safety, comfort, and customer experience while considering manufacturability, cost, weight, and schedule. These engineers utilize both basic and advanced technical skills to solve complex engineering problems. They develop proficiency in part and mechanism design using various manufacturing methods. Additionally, they stay informed about industry standards and actively contribute to Seat Engineering projects across different lifecycle stages. Their work involves creating engineering drawings, fabricating prototypes, coordinating testing, and collaborating within cross-functional teams. By continuously improving processes, they ensure that all work meets or exceeds customer requirements. Design assignments are executed under the direction of the Engineering Supervisor/Manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates engineering drawing packages using CATIA V5 or V6
  • Uses technical skills and principles to develop solutions to common engineering problems
  • Assists in the creation of test procedures and coordination of testing
  • Works well in a cross-functional and diverse team environment
  • Actively works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets or exceeds customer requirements
  • Develops and maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company products and processes.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree required in:
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Aerospace Engineering
    • Other related field
  • Minimum of 2 years engineering experience or relative aviation technical experience.
