About the Position:

The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire a Secretary Senior in our Criminal Intelligence Division (CID) at State Police Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The successful candidate will provide secretarial support to the CID Field Intelligence Lieutenant and administrative staff of the CID by typing and preparing correspondence and managing the maintenance of leave and overtime records for CID personnel; and will coordinate and maintain confidential informant files to ensure compliance with Department policy and applicable laws and office material supplies, administrative equipment records, and appropriate databases and organizational materials.

Minimum Qualifications

•Working knowledge of office practices and procedures; of proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation; and basic
mathematics.
•Skill in operating computers and using Microsoft Office applications; and in the operation of standard office equipment such as fax and copy machines.
•Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects; to maintain accurate and complete files; to establish priorities and make independent decisions; to interpret, apply, retain, and recall policies, procedures, and written instructions; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in English; to work independently and as a member of a team; and to order and maintain office equipment and supplies.
•Prior experience in office operations and customer service.
•High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
