Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling.
  • 5 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.
  • 5 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.
  • Active US Government Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with polygraph.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with cloud computing systems.
  • Cybersecurity experience including both compliance and engineering.
  • Experience in Full stack development.
  • Experience working with Kubernetes.
  • Excellent Cloud debugging skills including troubleshooting scalability and availability.


About the job

Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role, you will also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.

As a Security Engineer for the Mandiant Public Sector Security Assurance team you will help ensure that the client's software and services are designed and implemented to the highest security standards. You will develop code directly for mission applications and will work closely with partners and customers to enhance their mission capabilities and security posture.

This role is a high profile consulting role where you will be directly working with a highly technical client team enabling them to take advantage of the latest Google technologies.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,000-$239,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Adapt existing Google services to mission requirements.
  • Design/develop Python code exposing APIs.
  • Manage/debug multiple microservice containers running within Kubernetes.
  • Interface between customer developers and internal engineering teams.
