Duties

1. Plans, organizes, and directs Special Access Programs (SAP) security for assigned directorate programs/activities, its facilities and acquisition program systems, that support advance or special programs and SCI material, at contractor and other government locations ensuring that all elements of protection complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs throughout the program.

2. Performs duties as the Government SAP Security Officer (GSSO). for assigned programs/activity as defined in AF and DOD guidance.

3. Maintains security oversight of special access programs.

4. Represents organization with DoD, USAF, HQ AFMC, and various oversight organizations as well as government customers and contracted organizations.

  • Employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments
  • Work may occasionally require the employee to work outside the normal business hours
  • This position is designated national security position.
  • Part 1. Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certificate and Security Asset Protection Professional Certificate conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position
  • Part 2. in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and certification and AF! 36-2645, Security Professional Certification and Development.
  • Part 3. The listed cortication requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF SA/AA or their delegated security career field representative.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and or competencies in the following areas:

1. Expertise in program protection, physical, systems, information, industrial, personnel, operations security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas.

2. Extensive knowledge of organization's missions, functions, and structure to ensure effective implantation of oversight of special programs security concepts, principles and practices.

3. Expertise in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the Center Commander.

4. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers
