Senior Accountant, Cost

About the Opportunity
Our client in the pharmaceutical industry is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join their team. The Senior Cost Accountant will be a key player in both cost and inventory accounting for the company.

Salary: $100,000-$125,000
Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly financial reports utilizing support systems and completing responsibilities such as preparing journal entries, entering inventory accruals, reconciling the balance sheet, and analyzing variances.
• Contribute to month-end close procedures by reconciling perpetual inventories to the general ledger.
• Investigate and report on inventory adjustments as needed.
• Provide support for cost roll processes and costing of new products as needed.
• Assist with the annual budget process and annual physical inventories.
• Support internal stakeholders by answering inquiries and investigating variances on the financial statements.
• Maintain accurate filing, retention, and management of accounting records.
• Generate additional reports and support special projects and analyses.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor`s degree in finance, accounting, or related field required.
• 5+ years of professional accounting experience required.
• Previous inventory or cost accounting experience.
• Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing environments.
• ERP system experience.
