Our work depends on a Senior Business Systems Analyst capable of working both independently and leading a team of programmers/developers/testers. They will need to be capable of working directly with business customers to develop their requirements and develop application designs that are within postal standards. This includes reviewing legacy applications and reverse engineering them to extract the business functionality and edit and develop specifications for enhanced business functionality into a new robust application design.

HOW SENIOR BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
  • Provides Analysis functions and provides business area knowledge and technical expertise to team members engaged in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of business information systems.
  • Provides business area and technical expertise to management and customers to facilitate planning, set direction, define business initiatives, and develop solutions to customer business information systems needs and requirements
  • Assists the customer in the definition of business requirements, and their translation to information systems functions/features; establishes project objectives and identifies/quantifies benefits and develops business requirement documentation and coordinates system installation, evaluates existing systems and procedures, and recommends changes to management.
  • Meets regularly with customers to ensure timely and effective response to requests for service and high levels of customer.
  • Manage and create Change Requests (using ServiceNow), initiate Incident Management tickets.
  • Provide support for software releases and deployments.
  • Provide production level technical and business support when required due to various issues.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline; OR in lieu of degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required
Required Experience:
  • 8+ years of experience with analyzing and developing business requirements
Required Technical Skills:
  • Demostrated experience in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Demostrated experience and exposure to Web Services using JSON REST including testing using JUnit
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Project, and Excel
  • Demostrated ability to effectively translate business requirements/needs into detailed software requirements
  • Demostrated ability to support tasks utilizing Agile methodologies and setup of work management tools (like VersionOne)
Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficient business analysis skills
  • Demostrated experience at building strong business relationships across teams to ensure a positive customer experience and quality of software projects into production
  • Strong ability to guide development team activities from requirements to implementation in all aspects of a software development lifecycle with little supervision
  • Ability to adjust well in constantly changing environments; stays calm and composed under stress; ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to effectively work directly with customers, the executive leadership team, and technical staff; effective liaison between business and technical teams
  • Strong facilitation skills to effectively lead discussions across multiple groups
  • Proficient in performing analyses to support the development and validation of requirements
  • Proficient ability to communicate technical information to others, expressing facts or ideas clearly, orally or in writing, when answering questions, giving directions, and providing information, individually or in groups
Desired Skills:
  • Demostrated experience with Change Management and Configuration Management (ServiceNow, etc.)
  • Demostrated ability to assist with the development of simple to complex project plans utilizing Agile methodologies
  • Demostrated experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
  • Demostrated knowledge/experience with SDLC practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge of terminology, usage, and operating characteristics of hardware, software, and operating system components
Security Clearance Level:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
  • The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days.

The likely salary range for this position is $80,226 - $133,973. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
