Senior Compliance & Quality Assurance Specialist - Blood Bank/Pathology

We are looking for a Senior Compliance & Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team! In this role, you will help to oversee the Transfusion Medicine Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, accrediting agency standards, and internal requirements. You will be a valuable resource within the division, coordinating with other departments to manage quality and regulatory aspects of Transfusion Medicine operations. Additionally, you'll engage with external regulatory and accrediting bodies, as needed, and contribute to the validation of Transfusion Medicine Information Systems (TMIS). This position is essential to maintaining our high standards of quality and compliance.

As a successful candidate, you will:

• Provide support to division supervisors and managers in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures for quality activities such as equipment and process validations; compliance with new/revised regulatory/accrediting agency requirements; vendor qualification; control of documents and records; nonconforming event reporting and follow-up; and staff training and competency.
• Assist with the evaluation, testing, validation and implementation of new or revised information systems, including hardware and software installation.
• Interact with external regulatory/accrediting agencies as needed to maintain appropriate licensing/accreditation and reporting and assist in hosting inspections by external regulatory/accrediting agencies and/or contractors with Transfusion Medicine.
• Participate with division supervisors and managers in the development of policies, processes, and procedures for new or revised investigational protocols that require products or services from Transfusion Medicine.

Your qualifications should include:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 5+ years' experience in Blood Banking
• Blood Bank (ASCP), Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) or Specialist in Blood Bank SBB (ASCP) or California Clinical Laboratory license
