Summary

The Baylor Medicine Spine Center, Pituitary Center and Neurosurgery are seeking a highly motivated and outgoing Senior Coordinator, Patient Support Services who is comfortable utilizing technology to engage with patients and providers. The coordinator will be responsible for the management of all aspects of patient referrals, insurance verification issues and clinical faxes. The coordinator will support a team of 10+ physicians, 6 nurse practitioners and 1 registered nurse across three clinics. The coordinator will be joining a team of 12 medical assistants, 6 surgery coordinators and one radiologic technologist.

Job Duties

• Manages all aspects of patient referrals including but not limited to scheduling appointments, following up with physician offices for records/insurance referrals and communicating with patients regarding pending or missing referrals/records and surgery scheduling.
• Assists with resolution of insurance verification issues (STAT prior authorizations, peer to peer requests, appeals and denials).
• Manages all clinical faxes including but not limited to referral management, uploading records and disseminating faxes to appropriate team members for resolution.
• Maintains physicians' time in Qgenda.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience using EPIC electronic medical record and in specialty practice.
