The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD ("The HARRIS CENTER") is looking for a Support Services Team Leader to join our team for the Harris County Inspire program. Under the general supervision of the Program Director of ID Network Development and Management, this position is responsible for the supervision of unit staff and oversight of day-to-day activities of the unit staff. The Support Services Team Leader acts as a backup to the units Program Director. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Your role in action:
  • Administrative Leadership: Oversee the administration of Unit teams, ensuring seamless service delivery and team management.
  • Performance Monitoring: Utilize information systems to monitor and ensure Unit activities meet or exceed production goals.
  • Compliance Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of plans and documents to guarantee state requirement adherence by unit staff.
  • Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work closely with the Program Director and team members to address challenges and recommend enhancements in service provision and team operations.
  • Staff Development: Offer essential support and training to staff, keeping them informed and proficient in departmental standards and updates.
  • Team Coordination: Manage staff concerns and propose solutions to the Program Director, oversee caseload distribution among the team, and ensure efficient case discharges.
  • Engagement and Compliance: Participate actively in necessary meetings and functions, upholding and enforcing The Harris Center's and Unit's policies and procedures.
  • Versatility: Embrace and execute additional responsibilities as needed to support team and organizational goals.


What qualifications you will need:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.B.A., B.S., B.F.A.) from four-year college or university in a human services field.


Experience:
  • Minimum of three (3) years full-time experience in the human service field. Two (2) years' experience working with persons with intellectual/developmental disability preferred.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Most possess knowledge of intellectual/developmental disability and the aspect of the condition as it relates to the population served.
  • Must possess effective written, verbal communication, and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effectively communicates and works with individuals, family members, visitors and fellow employees in a manner that demonstrates knowledge of cultural diversities.
  • Must be knowledgeable and have sufficient understanding of specific The Harris Center systems.
  • Must be well versed with Microsoft office and Excel spreadsheets.
