The role:

The Senior Director of the SMO will spearhead the strategic development, implementation, and management of SoFi's comprehensive supplier management program. This role is critical for enhancing operational efficiency, mitigating risk, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving cost optimization across all supplier engagements.

What you'll do:
  • Strategic Leadership: Execute the strategic vision for the SMO, ensuring alignment with SoFi's overall business objectives and regulatory requirements-ongoing iteration on process improvements that drive efficiency and a best-in-class program.
  • Program Development and Oversight: Oversee a centralized supplier management program, including procurement, risk assessment, regulatory compliance, performance management, and relationship management. Drive consistent execution across the Supplier Management Lifecycle.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Procurement, Finance, Cybersecurity, Legal, IT, and Risk teams to ensure seamless supplier integration and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Supplier Categorization and Management: Implement a supplier categorization system that enhances the management of diverse supplier types, driving efficiency and reducing risk.
  • Technology and Systems Integration: Lead the selection and integration of technology solutions to support SMO operations, ensuring a unified approach to supplier data management and workflow optimization.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure robust risk assessment, due diligence, and monitoring practices align with OCC, FRB, and other regulatory guidance.
  • Change Management and Training: Drive change management initiatives related to SMO processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring staff are well-trained and aligned with the SMO's goals.
  • Performance Metrics and Reporting: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs & KRIs) to evaluate supplier performance, cost savings, compliance rates, and the overall efficiency of the supplier management process.

What you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in supplier/vendor management, procurement, or a related field within a financial services or regulated environment is required.
  • Proven track record of developing and leading a supplier management office or similar function.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements related to third-party risk management (e.g., OCC & FRB guidelines).
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and leading change in complex organizations.
  • Exceptional negotiation, relationship management, and project management skills.
  • Proficient in the use of technology and systems relevant to supplier management.


Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and location.

Pay range: $188,800.00 - $324,500.00

Payment frequency: Annual
