System One's client, a multi-discipline engineering and environmental services firm, has an immediate need for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their growing organization!

In this direct hire position, you'll coordinate with diverse teams to conduct design reviews, mentor junior to mid-career level engineers to drive technical excellence, all while serving on an innovative team as the subject matter expert (SME) to lead and design power systems at power-generating facilities. *This position will allow a 100% remote / work from home arrangement with travel as needed to our client's office locations OR will provide relocation assistance if candidates are open to moving close by one of their office locations in Tampa, FL, Lake Mary, FL, Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Kennesaw, GA, Chattanooga TN, or Fort Worth, TX.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in reviewing and checking designs, drawings, and data prepared by other engineers or subcontractors.
  • Prepare design studies and project scopes.
  • Make recommendations based on SME level knowledge and experience.
  • Direct and oversee routine and advanced technical work performed by others on assigned projects and maintains quality standards of all assigned projects.
  • Manage budget, scope, schedule, and quality associated with the designated work assignment with minimal guidance and technical oversight.
  • Prepare electrical equipment procurement and installation specifications and can evaluate technical bids and select equipment.
  • Broad knowledge of precedents in the industry, and as the lead SME EE, be able to advise the team on new approaches to technical problems.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university and minimum 7 years of power system design experience.
  • SKM and/or ETAP experience is required.
  • Protection and controls experience.
  • Experience in electrical codes, standards, and criteria for power systems.
  • Experience with lighting studies, lightning protection, and grounding design is preferred.
  • PE license is highly desirable.
  • Must be proficient in Word and Excel, have good writing, presentation, and communication skills, as well as the ability to perform work as an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.
  • Must be willing to travel 10%-15% to participate in field installations, checkouts, and start-ups.
  • Ability to climb stairs or ladders at client sites.
