The U.S. Consumer Services and Enterprise Digital & Data Technology Team brings together foundational strategic technology capabilities in digital experience engineering (Mobile and Web), AI/ML, marketing technology, enterprise communications, travel and lifestyle, and automation, grounded in our data technology model that prioritizes data governance. It employs a ground-breaking focus with development responsibilities for customer-facing capabilities that deepen and expand digital engagement, as well as core technical capabilities that cut across business lines and customer segments.

Roles & Responsibilities:

This is an opportunity to work in the Technology Enterprise Data Architecture while heavily influencing the Enterprise Machine Learning Platform and Enterprise Big Data Platform to support the end-to-end development and execution of Amex's data management strategy. You will be solving very interesting problems that directly and greatly impact millions of individuals worldwide. This role will be reporting to Staff Engineer and will be responsible for following

  • Design and architect end to end solution which is scalable, reliable as well as cost effective.
  • For a given business problem, explore all possible options and recommend best solution under given constraints
  • Perform POC's, build frameworks and reusable libraries to help developers resolve business problems
  • Build tools and frameworks to improve developer experience
  • Evaluate different third party tools and provide recommendations
  • Be a SME of Data Management and Data Privacy Concepts
  • Build smart solutions using GenAI, be in the forefront to explore possibilities


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, EE, EEE, Statistics, Math, Industrial Engineering, Operational Research, Physics, Financial Engineering, or related STEM fields. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience of technology platform implementation using tech stack including Java, Springboot, Python, graphQL, Rest API , SQL.
  • 6+ years of hands on experience in working on various backend systems like REST API's, graphQL, event based architectures, Spring boot, vertex, spring webflux, Rules engines like drool, RDBMS databases like Postgres, mySQL, NoSQL databases like elastic search, singlestore, couchbase, hbase, etc.
  • 1+ years of building both traditional and cloud native applications and big data platforms in support of digital transformation.
  • 1+ years of experience in Industry 4.0 initiatives and/or other aspects of data management; e.g. Data Governance, Data Security, Data Privacy and Data Lifecycle Management


Preferred Qualifications

    • Hands on experience working on data management tools like Collibra, Alation, Atlan, Orion, Manta, etc. is a plus
    • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic and agile environment
    • Strong analytical skills and algorithmic problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledge of / experience with Gen AI technology is a plus
    • Working knowledge in GCP techstack like Bigquery, Dataproc, Composer is another plus


Qualifications

Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
