Senior HVAC & Building Services Engineer

This position will lead a range of engineering activities associated with delivering successful solutions to clients in the food and beverage, biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical industries, and specialty chemical industries. Qualified candidates are expected to work directly with clients to define project requirements and deliver appropriate solutions to meet the stated needs based on a defined budget and schedule. Responsibilities include:
Development of standard engineering documents associated with projects at various stages of execution from conceptual design to construction documents:
o HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems.
o Concepts and basis of design documents
o Building heating and cooling loads
o Air flow and room-to-room pressurization diagrams
o Hydronic flow diagrams and riser diagrams
o LEED documentation
o Static pressure and pump head calculations
o Chillers, boilers, heat exchangers and associated central plant equipment.
o Air handlers, exhaust fans, air valves and diffu
o Specifications, sequence of operation, and controls points lists.
o Water, sewer, and gas usage calculations
o Domestic hot water boilers, air compressors, vacuum pumps, clean steam generators, valves and regulators, plumbing fixtures, and process coolers
o Shop drawing reviews and requests for information
o Meet project budget and schedule.
o Coordinate with architectural, electrical, plumbing/process and structural disciplines.
o Participate in owner meetings for project kick-off and review presentations and lead discipline related discussion.
o Conduct field surveys of existing conditions and on-site construction progress punch list reviews.
o Write commissioning documents and perform associated field checks.
o Complete Quality Management Training and comply with the program upholding a commitment to a culture of quality in all aspects of work.
o Work independently with minimal guidance solving complex problems.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
8-10 years of experience in design of HVAC systems
Plumbing and Fire Protection design experience.
Microsoft Excel and Word
Experience with Load program such as Carrier HAP or Trane Trace.
Capable of working in AutoCAD and Revit is a must.
LEED certification is a plus.
Licensed Professional Engineer required.
Experience in the support of industrial facilities (biotech, pharmaceutical manufacturing, chemical manufacturing, food and beverage, pet food manufacturing plants, etc.)
