Senior IT Operations/Systems Engineer - Contract to Hire - Remote (US)

Title: Senior IT Operations/Systems Engineer

Duration: Contract to Hire
Compensation: $70-82/hr.

The Senior IT Operations/Systems Engineer will report to the Lead Solution Architect and Project Manager.

Duties:

• Propose potential designs for Company's cloud architecture and strategy, considering existing on-premises systems and applications.
• Work with Vendor Resources and Company personnel associated with development, operations, and security to propose relevant solutions.
• Propose activities for the migration of on-premises applications and services aligned with Company's cloud strategy and architecture.
• Propose changes to Company's use of cloud resources, including virtual machines, storage, databases, and networking, that promote effective allocation and efficient usage.
• Suggest potential automation scripts and tools to streamline cloud operations, including using infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Propose changes to Company's cloud security measures, including firewalls, security information and event management (SIEM) systems, cloud security posture management (CSPM), and Cloud Workload Protection Platforms (CWPP).
• Analyze agreed performance metrics to provide implementation options for potential improvements in system performance.
• Analyze applicable performance for potential bottlenecks and identify possible solutions.
• Communicate with relevant Vendor Resources and Company personnel regarding Project requirements and related activities.

Qualifications:

• 10 years of experience as a Solutions focused Systems Engineer.
• Experience Monitoring, Analyzing, and Enhancing Systems Performance Management.
• DevOps, Dev SecOps, Cloud Architecture experience.
• Experience with OnPrem to Cloud Implementation.
• Automation Scripting experience
• Large Enterprise work experience
• Financial Services and Banking experience industry preferred.
