The role

Our experienced Sr. Learning Specialists support new hires and skills-based classes to educate the front-line contact center agents in all the product lines SoFi offers its members. A Sr. Specialist will certify and develop our Global trainers ensuring the same quality expected from our established SoFi Learning Specialists, in addition to auditing and providing recommendations on newly onboarded global learning specialists. We are looking for those who are experienced at engaging learners using adult learning methodology and who will develop and motivate new employees in their early tenure as well as providing enhanced learning as they continue their development. The Sr. Learning Specialist should expect to work with all levels of management and collaborate with policy writers, and designers to build learning content that enhances the learner's experience and allows for more consistent outcomes.

We are seeking someone with advanced experience, who has the banking industry knowledge needed and is passionate about facilitating growth and development. Ideally, this person is innovative, collaborative, and willing to run after problems. Sr. Learning Specialists are prepared, flexible, and have good time management skills due to their work on various projects. They utilize data to link to the learner's performance and growth to serve our members. They are excellent at articulating and are comfortable leading. They aid in the L&D annual goals and demonstrate the behaviors expected from our Learning Specialist. They mentor and coach newly onboarded Learning Specialists.

What you'll do:
  • Viewed as an experienced leader and expert in multiple products, technical facilitation, and how it aligns with company goals
  • Applies professional skills and knowledge to resolve complex classroom issues. Utilizes data to offer relevant and systemic solutions to be applied across multiple organizations.
  • Excels and adapts quickly to offer additional solutions for consistent outcomes.
  • Create standard work for L&D consistency
  • Expands footprint by taking on increased responsibility for projects that have Operational impact.
  • Solves problems of diverse and complex scope, demonstrating judgment in selecting appropriate methods and techniques.
  • Identify the needs of the Business and communicate potential risks to management to gain alignment.
  • Receives minimal instruction and limited oversight of complex projects
  • Accountable for projects and follow-up
  • Enacts strategies with the manager based on problems that need to be solved either by leveraging existing practices or establishing new ones for stakeholders and department goals
  • Proactively relays progress to their manager and establishes a regular cadence with stakeholders and for projects.
  • Helps create standard processes to drive strategy within the team
  • Develops and leverages a broad cross-functional network to drive decisions and progress toward Stakeholder And L&D goals
  • Builds trust with cross-functional stakeholders by taking time to understand their needs and articulate tailored solutions
  • Facilitates discussions of differing perspectives and effectively helps stakeholders and colleagues reach a consensus by listening, soliciting feedback, and providing opinions and guidance along the way

What you'll need:
  • All abilities an LS1 possessed at a high-functioning level which include:
    • Facilitates in-person and virtual training sessions with a focus on retail banking products, processes, and procedure
    • Facilitates New hire training, upskill training, and refreshers for Sofi agents and Global Business Partner agents
    • Onboard and certify trainers from our Global Business L&D partners
    • Assess, monitor, and document performance
    • Maintains attendance, assessment tracking, and records on all training conducted
    • Communicates the progress of learners in class and after through metrics, documentation, and observation
    • Identify and provide recommended solutions for the remediation of performance gaps and class outliers
    • Expertise in products, processes, and procedures
    • Evaluate and provide documented feedback on the effectiveness of content and training materials
    • Track and be knowledgeable in business metrics
    • Apply adult learning principles and technical facilitation/teaching skills
    • Partner with support teams within L&D
    • Participate and manage stretch assignments that enhance L&D or Product partners
    • Provide class coaching and feedback promptly
    • Maintain all administrative duties
    • Some travel, including international travel as needed
  • Additional skills needed
  • 7+ years of technical facilitation/teaching
  • 1+ year financial experience
  • Positive and consistent post-class data and observations
  • L&D leadership, reliability, and trust
  • Professional and positive demeanor and attitude
  • Accountability, and ambition
  • Excellent business and conversational writing and communications skills

Nice to have:
  • Understanding of Learning Theories and Instructional Design Models
  • Bachelor's degree preferred


Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and location.

Pay range: $73,600.00 - $138,000.00

Payment frequency: Annual
