Senior Mainframe Tester / Test Lead (banking & financial service domain)

Contract Duration: 6 - 12 months, renewable

Our client, a global leading IT company, is looking for a Senior Mainframe Tester / Test Lead (banking & financial service domain)

Key skills:
Mainframe z/OS and JCL testing experience
Wealth management, capital markets hands on test experience
Experience in running mainframe batches, securities, orders, mutual fund knowledge etc.
Senior Tester / Test Lead with experience in testing across multiple application and E2E testing.

Role/Responsibilities Summary (7-10 years+ overall)
Minimum 7 years' experience in a hands-on QA Test Lead role managing test teams/test staff for Financial Industry Sector software applications and services.
Strong understanding of software development life cycle, release process, different testing methodologies (waterfall / iterative/ agile) and project management concepts
Effectively coordinated test execution for several releases within set timelines
Demonstrated expertise in defining and implementing comprehensive end-to-end integration test strategies for medium to large complex IT projects.
Ability to collaborate in cross-team settings within software delivery organizations and coordinate testers within large projects.
Ability to facilitate team planning sessions, to estimate test effort, prioritize, assign tasks to test teams and to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Prior experience with non-functional test coordination (such as performance, fail-over and recoverability, security, etc.)
Proven communication (written & verbal) and presentation skills while working with internal stakeholders and TS leads counterparts.
Flexibility, a strong commitment to getting the job done, meets delivery schedules and has ability to work efficiently under pressure in the face of deadlines during software releases.
Ability to follow-up on tasks and project schedule commitments and to provide management team with reports and updates as needed.
Extensive experience in test planning, test case design, review, execution, and defect management
Knowledge of database query tools and ability to write and run DB2/SQL queries.
Knowledge of API, Web services testing and related technologies (XML, SOAP etc.), test techniques like black box, white box, smoke testing
Previous experience mainframe batch using JCL and different tools in mainframe z/OS environment like TSO, ISPF
