Description & Requirements

As an Accounting Advisory Services (AAS) Senior Manager you will assist AAS team members in building our national Accounting Advisory Services practice. Primary areas of focus will include managing client projects and project resources, assisting with business development efforts, recruitment and development of team members, and accountability for your results.

How you will contribute:

  • Developing, in collaboration with the AAS team, your plan and leading the execution thereof
  • Leading communications with C-level client executives including delivery of regular project updates and final presentation of project results
  • Leading and/or assisting with efforts to build, train and develop a team in conjunction with AAS Director
  • Having responsibility for quality control over projects
  • Solving problems in service delivery as they arise and consulting with the AAS Director, as appropriate
  • Researching and providing technical input on projects and advising on technical accounting in accordance with the respective accounting guidance
  • Participating in discussions related to complex transactions including IPOs, SPACs, and M&A
  • Coaching team members to high levels of performance and being highly collaborative
  • Being accountable for your results and how they support the AAS practice
  • Address administrative and HR matters timely, seeking advice as appropriate

  • Strong accounting research skills and ability to formulate appropriate accounting answers

  • Ability to travel as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA license
  • 7 years or more of experience in public accounting, accounting advisory or managing accounting and technical reporting for an SEC registrant or a company that underwent the IPO process
  • Held one or more prior leadership positions with oversight of multiple team members
  • Strong proven technical expertise in the areas of financial accounting, financial reporting, SEC reporting, M&A, or financial operations
  • Strong communication skills including strong verbal, listening, and writing skills
  • Experience in leading communications with C-level client executives
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong communication skills including managing multiple resources

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SEC financial reporting assistance including advising on Form S-1, S-4, 10-Q, or 10-Ks or foreign private issuer equivalents.
  • Experience serving SPACs through the registration process and de-SPAC transactions
  • Drafting messaging on complex financial reporting matters and technical accounting issues
  • Development of technical memos and assistance with complex accounting calculations
