Insight Global is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Engineering for one of our largest clients in Downtown Cleveland. The Senior IT Manager, Data Engineering manages teams of Data Engineering professionals to design and deliver enterprise grade data engineering services that benefit the business and the clients customers. The Senior IT Manager is accountable for leading the people, processes and technologies from strategy through operations for Data Engineering. This position will be primarily focused on the architecture design space within data engineering, responsible for implementing standards and best practices across the organization along with developing new patterns and enablement plans for data engineering. This individual will be documenting design practices, will be accountable for the architectural runway, and will be working closely with the Data Architecture team on various initiatives. They will be overseeing a team of 5-10 individuals with the anticipation of team growth.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

Review and analyze existing solution effectiveness and efficiency and develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.
Benchmark, analyze and make recommendation for improving current and future implementation methods and practices.
Assist the business and applications teams in alignment of key projects.
Coordinate feasibility studies for software and system products under consideration for purchase, and give advice based on findings.
Provide guidance concerning business implications of development projects.
Guide and oversee project and design reviews to evaluate and ensure that the design being applied meets policies, principles, and standards.
Apply Solution Architecture frameworks and practices.
Ensure consistent solution design practices and principles across all implementations.
Manage and oversee staffing, performance and resource management.
Maintain current knowledge of the technology workspace in terms of current state, future possibilities, forthcoming technologies, and their relevance and impact.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, or 12 years of IT experience in lieu of a degree.
12+ years of IT experience, 8+ years of experience managing direct reports.
Strong knowledge of Data Engineering to ensure effective and optimal solution design, deployment, and support of processes.
Hands-on experience with modern architecture design, planning, and developing new patterns.
Experience with modern data engineering tools, such as IICS/IDMC, Fivetran/HVR, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), etc.
Experience with Cloud technologies (Snowflake and Azure required).
Strong sense of urgency and drive for results.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with DevOps practices.
Knowledge of vendor software integration and interaction patterns.
