The Network & Acquiring Solutions team (NAS) is the heart of the American Express Enterprise, powering billions of transactions through the global payments processing network that we develop and manage. NAS is unique within the Enterprise. We work across almost every American Express business unit as well as external partners, providers, and key industry stakeholders. We are known to be intellectually curious and problem solvers as we tackle the most imperative initiatives facing the payments industry today, such as securing online transactions and enabling faster, more convenient ways to pay.

The Network Delivery team within NAS works to deliver a full scale modernized Network including new digital products such as Debit, Account to Account Payments, QR, Tokenization and Local Network solutions to meet the evolving demands of global payment networks and adapt to local needs while ensuring continued global interoperability. This enables the Enterprise to attract new customers, operate in new markets, react to changing regulatory demands, and process new types of payments. A role in the Network Delivery team will challenge you to broaden your skillset and industry acumen in a collaborative, diverse and inclusive team environment.

The Sr Mgr Digital Solution Design - Envisioning role is part of the Network Delivery Intake & Envisioning team. The role will focus on supporting the Debit & BillPay strategic priorities, working across Business and Technology teams to interpret business requirements into Agile Features for scrum teams to build and then implement for business partners. This requires breaking down the business requirement/business problem into what drives business value, identifying opportunities for transformation, assessing alternative solutions (particularly industry research), and clearly defining how the final deliverable meets the customer need and fits within the transaction processing lifecycle. The success of the role will depend upon the individual's ability to think strategically, build strong relationships, understand and drive the appropriate business architecture and focus on what delivers business value.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business partners to clarify development scope, associated business value, as well as dependencies, and linkage to strategic roadmaps
  • Drive transformation into Network, BillPay, Instruments & Money Movement processes utilizing external research, identifying opportunities to globalize capabilities and conversely, sunset other capabilities.
  • Work with business and technology partners to deliver Network, Money Movement, Instruments & BillPay capabilities on the new modernized infrastructure
  • Influence, lead and communicate to all levels across a broad range of customers and constituents
  • Develop presentations materials for colleagues and Senior Leadership and present your findings in a clear and compelling way
  • Develop a technical understanding of the new Network, BillPay and Multi-Rail ecosystems
  • Provide consultancy to business partners to ensure that processes and platforms are utilized appropriately


Qualifications

  • Ability to think strategically and breakdown business problems

  • Experience eliciting, articulating and documenting business requirements
  • Flexibility in supporting various time zones, as this role supports global initiatives


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience of developing strategy or scope elicitation
  • Expertise in Account-to-Account Payments, Authorization, Clearing & Settlement, ATM, Tokenization and Payment processing
  • Experience with Agile Delivery Framework
  • Experience delivering complex system development


Qualifications

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
