Senior Manager Engineering
The Senior Manager of Engineering will lead a high-performing team to excel in the aerospace industry, focusing on the design, production, and regulatory compliance of Rotorcraft Customization and Aeronautical Accessories.
This role requires a dynamic leader who can innovate processes, manage resources effectively, and exceed customer expectations while maintaining a strong relationship with the FAA and other regulatory bodies.
What you'll be doing as Senior Manager Engineering:
• Leading and developing a skilled engineering team to achieve industry-leading performance by ensuring only qualified personnel are assigned to design and approve of technical data, to manage manpower requirements, to overseeing training, and to verify qualifications meet FAA and Bell standards.
• Directing engineering teams to complete Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) for new aerospace products, leading design projects for Bell Rotorcraft customization, and overseeing the design process to enhance product safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Managing the transformation of resources into high-quality physical components and functional systems, cultivating a proficient team dedicated to surpassing customer needs, and aligning the engineering function with the business's deliverables.
• Maintaining and strengthening FAA relationships, integrating feedback from various sources into products, managing existing designs in production, and securing approvals for MRAs, STCs, and Amended Type Certificates.
• Managing structural, thermal, and dynamic analysis of new products, securing foreign regulatory approvals, managing product support engineering, representing Piney Flats on the Bell Safety Board, and providing manufacturing support for Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) production while also providing initial cost estimates for major design projects and managing Project Engineers in completion of those products.

Skills You Bring to this Role:
- Experience in product development, program or project management, familiarity with FAA regulations, effective communication skills, and personnel development skills.
What You Need to be Successful:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering. Other related Engineering degrees will be considered. Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience.
- At least 15 years of product development management experience with helicopter, aircraft systems, vehicles, or similar products.
- 5 years' experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
