The Supply Chain Senior Manager is responsible for supervising Supply Chain and Materials Management staff ensuring appropriate par and inventory management activities are maintained at all storage locations to support hospital, inpatient, ambulatory and perioperative services. Responsible for the timely ordering, receipt, inspection and delivery of materials, supplies and equipment required in provision of patient care Coordinates and maintains a variety of non-clinical and ancillary services in support of nursing services to maintain the efficiency and quality of unit operations.

Compliance: Ensures that policies, procedures, quality assurance, and customer service standards are followed. Participates in the development, implementation and monitoring of all department policies, procedures, technical guidelines and quality assurance standards.

Human Resources

Responsible for maintaining adequate staffing levels, interviewing, hiring, performance management including discipline, and termination of workforce consistent with HR guidelines. Responsible for completion of staff performance appraisals. Coordinates department orientation and training as needed

Coordinates with senior leadership to maximize service levels and minimize costs while consistently achieving best quality and value outcomes.

Finance

Responsible for departmental budgets. Operates within the allocated funds and makes

recommendations for capital expenditure

Communication

Conducts on-going monthly staff meetings, keeping the staff up to date as to the information pertinent to their job functions. Acts as a lead resource for Nursing Staff with questions or concerns relative to par-levels, custom requisitions, call-downs, equipment and supplies.

Informs leadership and stakeholders of concerns/issues with staffing, employee relations, inter-departmental issues or distribution and/or inventory control.

Customer Service

Responsible for understanding the needs of the different service lines insures the supply chain team is delivering the service and/or product as designed.

Builds and maintains positive relationships with hospital stakeholders.

Establish key relationships with our end users including regular meetings and reporting. Builds, maintains, and manages strong partnerships with our strategic vendors.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge typically acquired through an undergraduate degree or at least 7 years' progressive experience in a Healthcare setting. A minimum of 3 years' experience at a management level is required. Experience with Microsoft Office applications helpful.
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.


o In-depth knowledge of Materials Management purchasing, contracting, vendor relationships, and product knowledge and logistics necessary.

o Requires excellent interpersonal, influential, and organizational skills.

o Strong customer service skills and ability to manage multiple customer relationships.

o Functions independently within a broad scope of established departmental policies and goals.

o Effective communication and problem-solving skills necessary. Daily contact with all levels of personnel within the organization as well as numerous contacts outside.

o Excellent computer skills and the ability to read and interpret reports are essential.

o Skills in preparing business plans and presentations are also needed. General skills as general acquired through Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

o PeopleSoft and Workday knowledge are preferred.

o Requires analytical skills necessary to make sound judgements based on data analysis.

o A strong commitment to providing superior service which assures quality and user satisfaction.

o Detailed oriented, flexible, adaptable to change and ability to multi-task and prioritize.
