Participate in multi-state alternative investment firms (hedge fund, fund to funds, private equity, real estate) with state and local tax compliance. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team helping to provide subject matter/alternative investment industry knowledge and experience. Review information presented on state income tax returns before, during and after preparation. Build and manage client relationships, and supervise, mentor, and develop staff. Manage risk and financial performance of engagements including billing, collections, and project budgets; as well as team with other professionals to identify new marketplace opportunities and grow the KPMG tax practice.
WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Economics, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience; OR a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Economics, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field, and 7 years of post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience.
Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience with the following: preparing state income tax returns for pass-through and corporate entities, providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues for manager candidates; providing services to pass-through entities and having knowledge of relevant state tax concepts; mentoring and counseling staff level team members; and writing, compliance, communication, management and tax research skills.
Travel to various locations throughout the US required up to 5%.
Travel to various international locations required up to 5%.
