In this job, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the generating assets by leading a continuous improvement of performance and operational flexibility for the generation fleet. Provide technical leadership on commercially available products for improving plant flexibility and improve the operational and financial representation. You will help identify emergent generation process issues and be responsible for managing small O&M projects as well as act as an interface between SCE Generation's Eastern/Western Operations, Project Engineering, Asset Management and Generation Strategy. Responsibilities

  • Oversees engineers performing diagnostics, monitoring and inspecting equipment, and reviewing grid technologies, building relationships to facilitate cross-functional knowledge transfer of related work groups
  • Leads the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Collaborate and lead with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless development, integration and implementation of future technologies and asset performance management strategies
  • Assists in a variety of engineering and business initiatives and grid strategies, including development of innovative procedures and design recommendations
  • Provides support for new equipment installation and startup, then leads the hand over processes to the ramp and sustaining phases
  • Leads junior engineers in investigation of threats on the distribution system infrastructure based on observations and findings
  • Gathers and correlates basic data using engineering studies and procedures, which may include routine and diagnostic testing of components and systems
  • Facilitates training and professional development opportunities for engineering team members to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in a scientific/technical/math field.
  • Seven or more years of experience performing engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
  • Posses a valid Class C Driver's License.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • P. E. License preferred and recognized expertise in specialized areas.
  • Possesses ten or more years working in progressing responsible plant engineering positions.
  • Knowledgeable in process controls, control system configurations and design within a generating plant environment.
  • Experience managing and maintaining small to large control system projects and upgrades, including installation, implementation, commissioning, documentation. and maintenance support.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Experience in preparing/justification of capital projects.
  • Experience working with Power Generation facilities.
  • Experience working with Project Cost estimating.
  • Experience working in Asset Management program
  • Able to drive, fly, traverse on uneven surfaces (hiking), sit/stand for extended periods of time, and work in various weather conditions, for extended periods of time.


Additional Information
  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
