JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Power BI Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards; creating and managing Power BI solutions for the entire company. Ensuring data quality, accuracy, and consistency across reports and dashboards and driving the development and delivery of new Power BI projects. The candidate must be highly skilled, professional, and strictly adhere to all project timelines and deliverables. The candidate must be able to work independently, make decisions with limited information, and ensure the best possible outcomes for our business.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models, adhering to coding standards and best practices
  • Develop and maintain version control for databases and dashboards to ensure consistency and accuracy across all reports and data sources
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, and IT teams to understand business needs, data sources, and requirements
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and develop solutions that meet or exceed stakeholder expectations
  • Use Agile and Waterfall methodologies, along with Azure DevOps, to track projects and ensure timely delivery of solutions
  • Debug and optimize new and existing code to improve performance and ensure data accuracy
  • Develop documentation to standardize reports across the entire IT organization and ensure that reports are aligned with business objectives
  • Take ownership of the Power BI tool and plan roadmaps to interact, develop, and publish reports in partnership with the business
  • Manage security, access, and licensing of the Power BI tool for online services
  • Create a unified database system to feed all other reports with row-level security depending on roles and responsibilities via dataflows and datamarts
  • Track the usage of Power BI services, plan future utilization, and keep data models from passing the existing license capacity for the company not to incur extra costs
  • Proactively monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization
  • Stay up to date with the latest Power BI features and trends and apply new knowledge to improve existing solutions
  • Create strong user interface and user experience design, including data visualization and report formatting, to create the best possible user experience
  • Debug and optimize new and existing code
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors Degree with a concentration in Business, Computer Science, Statistics, or Information Systems.
  • 5+ years of PowerBI experience.
  • 5+ years of MS T-SQL development experience.
  • Knowledge on DAX highly preferred.
  • Experience with UI/UX design
  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, data warehouse design, and data integration
  • Exceptional leadership, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Consulting or staffing experience is a plus.
  • Strong creative and analytic problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant certifications (Azure/AWS Data or Analytics Certifications, SQL Management Studio, MS Power BI, Snowflake).
  • Good working knowledge of Azure DevOps for version control and task/bug tracking.
  • This position will be a hybrid role and requires at least 3 days in-office per week
