Location: Ithaca, NY - onsite

TheSenior Software Developeris responsible for designing, specifying, developing, and testing software products that are primarily used in complex laboratory instruments (i.e mass spectrometry and chromatography related systems) for instrument control, data acquisition, and post-data analysis:

  • Develop high-quality, high performance software components for instrument product lines.
  • Work across all phases of the software lifecycle, including investigation and requirements gathering through design, implementation, testing, and release.
  • Test/troubleshoot software in the system to differentiate hardware, firmware, and software problems.
  • Create/execute design and release verification and validation protocols.
  • Create software requirements documentation based on customer and technical requirements.
  • Maintain existing C/C++ /JavaFX/C# product line code for Windows and Linux platforms.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or engineering field, or equivalent demonstrable skill set.
  • 5+ years' experience coding in object-oriented languages (Java/JavaFX; C/C++, and C#)
  • Experience with good software design principles for GUI, APIs and software interfaces with laboratory/analytical instrumentation preferred
  • Proficient with software development tools including integrated development environments (MS Visual Studio, Eclipse, installer tools such as InstallShield) and source code control tools.
  • Strong fundamental base in operating systems, computer architecture, USB communication and basic electronics. Experience in firmware development via VHDL would be a plus.
  • Security clearance on secret level would be a plus.
  • Clear understanding and ability to drive the software development lifecycle.
  • Positive attitude and ability to manage/participate in multiple projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Pay is $100 - 110K,RELOCATION PACKAGE
