Job Description:

L3Harris is actively seeking an Instructor of Aircraft Electricians for our Greenville, TX facility for a direct hire opportunity. We offer great competitive benefits and a generous relocation package for those who qualify.

The Electrician Instructor is responsible for training new hires and existing mechanics as required in classrooms, workshops and/or laboratories. Training will include classroom-based, computer-based, and practical hands-on projects. This position requires a strong knowledge of job area and a broad knowledge of project management. Communication within the team and with outside functions is required to ensure training follows operational processes, practices, and procedures. This position requires continual review of training to make moderate to substantial improvements and to contribute to the achievement of departmental goals and operating plans.

Essential Functions:
  • Ensuring students follow safety and compliance policies and procedures while in training.
  • Reading and interpreting drawings, schematics, and aircraft manuals.
  • Communicates within and outside of own function/area and has responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization when necessary to ensure training is developed/delivered according to company policies, procedures, practices.
  • Developing and updating training curriculum and lesson plans for new hire training, specialty course training, and any additional training required to meet the needs of Operations.
  • Ensure all training meets company and asset standards.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the training area, including but not limited to: the cleanliness and upkeep of the shops and labs, accountable for monitoring and controlling all tools/toolboxes, and maintaining adequate inventory of supplies for training.
  • Perform tasks including, but not limited to: ensuring course evaluations are completed after training, performing regular check-ins with new hires after leaving new hire training, project grading/posting, creating visual/instructional aides for instruction, reviewing defect reports, participating in instructor review meetings to analyze training feedback submitted by employees and supervisors, and completing action items identified by the team to implement training improvements.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
  • Attend any training required for instructors for new processes/equipment.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 6 years prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be an effective communicator and possess strong motivational skills.
  • Must be able to develop and administer electrical technical training curriculum.
  • Must be able to train aviation electrical students ranging from entry to senior level experience.
  • Must have aviation related electrical assembly experience.
  • Must be able to demonstrate creative problem-solving capabilities.
  • Must be willing to work any shift, and overtime as needed.
  • Must have a functional knowledge of MS Office tools; including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Previous experience as an instructor.
