We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Tax Accountant who will be responsible for quarterly tax account reconciliations, estimates, and support tax filing processes. The senior tax accountant should exemplify strong organizational skills, effective collaboration and communication skills, strong learning ability, and intermediate Excel skills. As part of In-N-Out's Accounting Team, the Senior Tax Accountant requires a working knowledge of direct and various indirect tax principles.

*This position is 100% in office and will be based in Irvine, CA.

General Responsibilities:

• Prepare various tax workpaper, statement apportionment calculations, and various supporting documents in support of Federal and state income tax returns and ensure payments of such filings are made timely.
• Prepare quarterly income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740 and quarterly income tax account reconciliations
• Prepare quarterly and annual income tax estimates and projections
• Assist with preparation of monthly and quarterly sales and use tax returns
• Assist with preparation of non-income or indirect tax compliance obligations, as well as permits, licenses, and registration renewals, in various state and local tax jurisdictions
• Develop long-term professional relationships with INO Management and key vendors
• Support the tax team's goals and objectives by assisting Tax Manager and Sr. Tax Manager with special projects and ad hoc assignments; and by coordinating between various internal & external parties and service providers

• Perform tax research and provide assistance to various stakeholders internally and externally
• Provide support in preparation of schedules/responses related to income tax audits, inquiries, and tax notices
• Identify and communicate relevant tax legislative developments

• Implement and uphold tax accounting policies and processes

• Maintain a forward-looking perspective by remaining abreast of industry and tax developments

Work Schedule + Benefits

• Full-time, Salaried, Exempt

• Pay Range is $105,700 - $132,000
  The above represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we will consider your experience and other job-related factors.

• Office Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:00 am-5:00 pm

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Tax required
• Master's degree in Tax preferred
• 4+ years of relevant tax experience, with a heavy emphasis on US federal income tax compliance and income tax accounting, in both public accounting and corporate environments
• Experience preparing tax returns
• Experience preparing ASC 740 income tax provision

• Some knowledge of Indirect Taxes (Sales and Use Tax, Property Tax)

• Excellent research and analytical skills, including written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks/projects, while also completing regular responsibilities, working effectively, independently and in a team environment

• Open to improvements in tax practices and processes

• Tax system knowledge, preferred
• Experience in the restaurant/retail industry preferred
