About the Team

The TikTok DATA team is responsible for the algorithm and data analysis of short videos, live streaming, e-commerce, music, Lemon8, and other business scenarios. By building and continuously optimizing the industry-leading recommendation system, it provides comprehensive algorithm strategy solutions, continuously optimizes and enhances the core indicators of various businesses such as LT/SD, and is the company's core competitiveness.

The TikTok DATA TPM team works closely with the DATA team and the DATA Arch team to build, implement, and optimize the project management framework suitable for algorithm scenarios, and solve various pain points in project management, resource efficiency, and R&D toolchains. They work with cross-functional teams and roles to drive the delivery of large-scale critical projects end-to-end, and are jointly responsible for the delivery and business results.

About The Role:

1. As a TPM, you'll be the bridge between various teams across countries, working closely with people from Algorithm, Architect, Product, Engineering, Data Scientist, and various TikTok teams, driving the end-to-end delivery of new algorithms, products, and features to market, inspiring creativity and bring joy to our users around the globe.
2. End-to-end manage various complex, cross-functional algorithm-related programs and lead all aspects of assigned program delivery, responsible for the project results.
3. Define the way of driving these programs and constantly find ways of improving this process in a data-driven manner. You'll be the owner of the collaboration process and tools.
4. Measure and keep improving the delivery efficiency of the teams.
5. General project management activities including but not limited to:
- Prepare the project schedule, and define the milestones;
- Track and report progress, identify and mitigate risks, remove blockers;
- Ensure algorithms, products, app release to market smoothly;
6. As a member of the PMO team, be responsible for or assist in achieving the goals of TikTok's horizontal projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

1. BA/BS degree or above with 5+ years of project delivery or technical leadership background, plus strong organizational and interpersonal skills, will enable you to succeed in TikTok's fast-paced environment.
2. Have in-depth understanding and practical experience in building and optimizing project management processes, analyzing and improving delivery efficiency.
3. Effective communication skills to handle comms for teams, management, and cross-functional stakeholders at all levels, and a proven track record of getting things done/shipping projects.
4. Experience working in a dynamic, fast-moving environment where strong self-motivation, and autonomy are needed and juggle between multiple complex projects/tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Working experience in a technical background
2. Understanding of recommendation systems and algorithms
3. Experience in cross-timezone project management environment
