This position is intended to be full time in Summer 2025 with possibility of starting part time in Spring 2025.

Please note HDR does not provide financial assistance for relocation or housing expenses related to this position.

The HDR Site Civil team provides clients construction documents and permitting assistance for a variety of market sectors, ranging from Commercial Real Estate to Federal to Healthcare and Major Water Infrastructure. We follow local design guidelines and work with permitting agencies. Our design services consist of due diligence, site layout, paving & grading and erosion controls, stormwater management, utilities, and water/wastewater systems.

Responsibilities would include:

  • Assist the Site Civil Engineering team with site studies, site designs, overall site layout, grading, utility layout, and drainage
  • Perform routine engineering assignments requiring the application of standard techniques and procedures
  • Work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers on larger projects
  • Assist the project team with project permitting submittal requirements with applicable jurisdictions
  • Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professional programs
  • Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager
  • Perform other duties as needed


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
  • Preference given to local candidates

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
  • Attention to detail
  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
