Position Overview

UNTD PD is seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Manager Intern to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in managing and developing social media strategies for a public safety organization. The intern will play a key role in enhancing our online presence, promoting safety initiatives, and engaging with the campus community through various social media platforms.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).
  • Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) are a plus.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for social media and digital communication.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Job Duties:
  • Content Creation: Develop, curate, and schedule engaging content for the University Police Department's social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).
  • Campaign Management: Assist in planning and executing social media campaigns to promote safety programs, events, and department initiatives.
  • Community Engagement: Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions across social media platforms in a timely and professional manner.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Track and analyze social media metrics to assess the effectiveness of content and campaigns, providing regular reports with insights and recommendations.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all social media content aligns with the department's voice, mission, and branding guidelines.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the University's Communication and Marketing team, as well as other campus departments, to coordinate content and messaging.
