What You'll Do:

• Provides psychosocial interventions to individuals; performs individual, family or group interventions (i.e. counseling, testing, education and group work) focusing on problem-solving, coping skills, sexuality education, etc.; develops intervention goals & objectives designed to give education & resolve individuals' problems; participates in process of establishing, implementing & evaluating goals and objectives; interviews individuals & individual's families to establish case goals and objectives; assesses individuals & determines specific intervention techniques for individuals; monitors individual & provides feedback on effectiveness of prescribed interventions.

• Maintains contact with probate courts for involuntary commitments and guardianships. Maintains processes to support individuals' rights and resolution of complaints. Plans events designed to improve self-esteem and quality of life. Serves as the HIPAA Privacy Officer.

• Attends meetings (i.e. training, PCPs, special team) & court hearings; establishes & maintains working relationship with other facilities, agencies and support services (i.e. county boards, courts and mental health) in order to coordinate referrals & conduct follow-up services. Completes and maintains consents upon admissions and as needed. Coordinates services with funeral homes, memorials, and ensures religious preferences are met.

Qualifications
Requires current license as social worker (i.e., LSW) as issued by State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker & Marriage & Family Therapist Board in accordance with ORC 4757.28.

Pursuant to ORC 4757.41 (A)(5) any person engaging in social work or professional counseling as a civil service employee as defined in section 124.01 of the Revised Code who has at least two years of service as of July 10, 2014 is exempt from current licensure as social worker (i.e. LSW) requirement.
