Job Description
1PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Licensed Social Work Level Ill is an LCSW who independently as well as in collaboration with transdisciplinary teams, identifies psychosocial issues and concerns of patients and their families and provides appropriate clinical services to meet their needs. They provide clinical and administrative supervision to licensed and non-licensed employees reporting to them.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Licensed clinician with minimum 3 year of experience working with intellectually disabled children who will be responsible for conducting psychosocial assessments for patients in an ambulatory setting. Candidate should have organization skills and demonstrate an ability to provide oversight, guide and direct work of subordinates. Candidate must be able to work and engage with the intellectually disabled population, their families and community providers, and possess knowledge of resources and services for this population. The clinician should be skilled in delegating and assigning tasks to others, providing support and training to direct reports, providing individual therapy and connecting families to the OPWDD system where indicated.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Licensed Social Worker Level Ill in the Development Evaluation Clinic, the clinician will be responsible for supporting the intake process of the clinic and providing clinical and administrative e supervision to direct reports. The SW Level II is also responsible for conducting initial assessment and generating biopsychosocial assessments for new admissions in the clinic. The candidate would be required to work collaboratively with child and adolescent serving agencies including foster care agencies, ACS, OCFS, DOE, OPWDD and other mental health service providers, oversee the tasks of non-licensed staff, attend and actively participate in trainings on relevant individual, group and family therapeutic interventions specific to intellectually disabled children and adolescents, develop comprehensive interdisciplinary treatment plans, facilitate supportive, psychoeducational and insight-oriented psychotherapeutic interventions (both short and long term), provide crisis interventions to patients as indicated. Additional duties include, engaging with families to begin providing supportive, psychoeducational and psychotherapeutic interventions to patients and their families, providing support to families, and engaging them as partners in recovery. They would be required to identify barriers to necessary services and treatment at time of service in the clinic. Candidate may be assigned to work in other clinical areas as needed when patient care needs arise. Candidate must be organized and have ability to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate good verbal and written skills. Must be proficient in English. Spanish or Creole a plus.
