The tasks for the Software Development Engineer in Test - Quality Assurance include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Design, develop and execute Automation Test Scripts using Selenium
  • Perform Unit, Functional, and Regression Testing through automation.
  • Expert in all technical aspects of Automation
  • Provide test estimates for proposed projects
  • Constantly look for opportunities to improve testing processes
  • Establish testing standards and best practices
  • Work closely with Management to improve Automation framework and net outcome
  • Provide high quality and scalable solutions
  • Complete testing assignments in a timely manner
Technical Knowledge and Skills
  • Automation experience which includes creating web automation test suites using tools like Selenium WebDriver, Selenium GRID, AutoIT, PDFBOX, Sikuli, Jersey, RestAssured
  • 5+ years of programming/scripting experience (Java including latest version 8)
  • Solid years of programming/scripting experience (Protractor, Karma/Chai, Jasmine)
  • At least 3 years of experience with testing web/ecommerce applications constructed using JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery, CSS, HTML, AngularJS, Kendo UI, ReactJS, rxJS related technologies.
  • Proficient with SQL for adding, modifying and extracting data from a MSSQL or RDBMS database.
  • Experience with version control tools (TFS, GIT or SVN)
  • Must have experience with TestNg/Junit, Maven/Ant, Jenkins setup and usage.
  • Understanding and working knowledge with Data Driven, Keyword Driven, Hybrid, and Linear frameworks
  • Experience with testing and automating REST Based and SOAP APIs using tools such as - RestEasy, SOAPUI
  • Experience with ticket tracking tools such as TFS, VersionOne, SVN.
  • Knowledge of Defect Management Tool (Quality Center)
  • Knowledge of SDLC and implementation
  • Fast learning, problem solving and analytical skills
Demonstrable Skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze information and identify and formulate solutions to problems.
  • Complete work within a reasonable timeframe under the supervision of a manager.
  • Strong knowledge of project management practices and ability to document processes and procedures as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other project team members and independently on assigned tasks and deliverables with minimum supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with users at all levels verbally and in writing.
New to state candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of the alternate salary range when applicable. Placement to alternate salary range may be based on education or experience identified in your state application.

Working Conditions

Selected candidate(s) hired may be required to attend in-person Onboarding at our Vacaville office with expenses for attendance paid by State Fund.
