  • The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Platform Cloud Architect to join the Next Generation Product Support team located in Ridley Park, PA, Hazelwood, MO, Oklahoma City, OK or Plano, TX which develops a diverse suite of digital and data analytics capabilities and supports investments in defense platform capabilities for product support across a wide portfolio of US and non-US customers. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) business organization.
  • This position will support the platform cloud architecture design, and development of the technology roadmap for a diverse suite of data analytics and cloud-based product support tools. This role requires a resourceful, self-driven, outcome-oriented individual with attention to detail and the ability to partner, execute, communicate with diverse teams across software engineering and data science disciplines, and help lead the team through influence and collaboration across the company.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing in a cloud-native framework for a microservices web-based architecture and be capable of implementing and designing the architecture requirements and contributing to the roadmaps for the platform and diverse analytics product suite by understanding the business requirements needed to support the architecture through development, deployment, and sustainment processes.
  • Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Mid level and Senior Software Engineers.
  • This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports, as a team leader, the design, development, analyses, and maintenance of software systems and architecture to ensure customer requirements and quality, safety, and security standards are met.
  • Partners with program and senior technical leaders and software management stakeholders to inform system definition and software system solutions that meet customer, operational and performance requirements.
  • Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks relevant to platform requirements.
  • Identifies risk, issues, and opportunities as they pertain to the platform architecture.
  • Performs analysis on planned work scope to include Requests for Information or Request for Proposal and support the senior solutions architects in the the development of a technology roadmap and schedule to meet the overall business objective.


Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance Post-Start.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 6+ years of software engineering development experience
  • 1+ years of software engineering experience in the aerospace domain
  • 2+ years' experience with web microservices architecture
  • Experience with cloud-native development (AWS, Azure, or GCP)


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 8+ years software development experience
  • Experience with modern software development methodologies (Scrum, Agile, Kanban, DevOps)
  • Extensive technical knowledge in common client and server side frameworks (Spring Boot/Spring Framework, .NET Core, Django, Express)
  • Experience developing software in the aircraft product services and product support domain to include Maintenance, Repair, & Overhaul support and Performance Based Logistics
  • Demonstrated experience with Zero Trust Architecture
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills


Typical Education/Experience:

Experienced (level 3)
  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master's degree +3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
