About the Role

As a Senior Architect in the Business Applications team, you will recommend and prioritize technology strategy & architecture at enterprise level, to align with Uber's B2B business goals.. As part of the Enterprise Architecture team, you will be responsible for accelerating the value of architecture across the GoToMarket Tech stack by embedding architectural mindset and principles into engineering processes and talent. This role will require deep collaboration with various leaders and senior individuals across the company to build consensus and an in-depth understanding of key Deal Management processes and the applications and technologies that support them. This requires the ability to seamlessly blend engagement skills, business understanding, critical thinking, technical mastery, and architectural knowledge to drive to define an BTE roadmap that will scale and mature business capabilities.

This position requires you to be a self-starter with the ability to take ownership, prioritize, and handle various tasks simultaneously. In addition, strong verbal communication and written documentation skills are a must for this role for promoting ideas throughout the business to both technical and non-technical audiences.

What the Candidate Will Do

- Solution Architect will help Technical and Business Leaders realize their future business capabilities by defining and designing an entirely new Merchant Experience (MX) for Uber Delivery
- Enable Commercial teams to renegotiate, reactivate or deactivate Merchant according to their needs to address their challenges and drive success and satisfaction with the Eats platform
- Ensure compliance tracking to ensure contractual agreements and regulatory requirements are met.
- This position will drive the definition & adoption of architecture principles, tenable standards, best practices, and design patterns, across a cross-functional technology team
- Design, define and implement the future state of our Customer experience (CX) for Uber Delivery
- Define core BTE operating model of process, data, and technology, and design the desired architectural foundations for execution
- Drive design decisions to build solutions that are customer grade with focus on Security, Availability, Scalability, Performance and User Experience and minimized technical debt
- Lead strategic discussions with Delivery Commercial Operations and BTE executives, on attaining key business outcomes via digital maturity and transformation
- Provide Architecture Governance and assurance that the solutions that are delivered are compliant with the approved Architecture
- Research emerging trends in Digital Customer Experience and drive innovation roadmap for future state vision of Merchant Success
- Act as a mentor for colleagues and help drive knowledge-sharing

Basic Qualifications

- 10+ years as a technical architect designing and delivering microservices architecture across enterprise cloud and distributed systems, including event driven architecture, API management and messaging systems including Kafka and Mulesoft
- Deep experience and knowledge of Customer Success function, specifically development on Customer Success Platform
- Experience architecting solutions and building out target state architectures and roadmaps for medium to large sized organizations
- Demonstrated experience with Digital Customer Experience domains, including: Lead and Opportunity Management, Customer Success, CRM, CPQ, Analytics, Master Data Management and Customer Support

Preferred Qualifications

- Deep domain knowledge on what is best in class digital experience for Enterprise SaaS products
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations
- Strong experience with multiple technology stacks: Cloud Dev, Platforms, Web Dev, Frameworks, and/or service-oriented architecture
- Demonstrated strong communications skills; must collaborate and/or influence peers through explanation of facts, policies, and practices
- Excellent knowledge of software and application design and architecture
- High quality organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to strongly influence without authority
- BS/MS in computer science, engineering, or relevant field

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$171,000 per year - USD$190,000 per year.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$171,000 per year - USD$190,000 per year.

For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$171,000 per year - USD$190,000 per year.
