Job Description:

This position requires an experienced professional responsible for planning, research & development, and execution of engineering development tasking on projects, pursuits, and programs.In this role the selected candidate will communicate with parties within and outside of the organization which includes customers or vendors. Requires ability to communicate with leadership regarding matters of importance to the function or business area. May conduct briefings with senior leaders.

Requires technical and leadership knowledge in the design and development of sonar acoustics and other underwater communications capabilities for DoD applications.

Essential Functions:

• Individual contributor to Electrical Engineering development efforts, executing technical scope, and delivering to technical, cost, and schedule objectives
• Conduct design and development of active and passive sonar systems, tasking to include: digital signal processing (DSP) architecture design; sonar performance predictions and improvements; beamforming and sonar signal conditioning.
• Responsible for providing input to program bids and generating bases of estimate.
• Responsible for deriving engineering specifications from system requirements and developing detailed architectures

Qualifications:

• Possess understanding of underwater acoustics / signal processing theory and techniques required.
• Knowledge in DSP (Digital Signal Processing) architecture design and sonar acoustics.
• Knowledge of active and passive sonar systems
• Ability to obtain security clearance at the DOD Secret level which requires U.S. Citizenship.
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or comparable discipline with a minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience; or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience is required.
