Job Description:

This position is responsible for quality improvement of issues related to suppliers and/or subcontractors of materials, products or services used in development or manufacturing.
  • Analyze supplier performance and develop improvement plans for identified problem areas to drive down supplier DPPM and nonconformance rates
  • Use Six Sigma & Lean concepts for supplier improvement of quality and delivery metrics
  • Provide training for basic quality methodologies to support supplier partnerships
  • Support programs assessing potential new suppliers
  • Implement Supplier Partnership concepts with focus suppliers
  • Review, analyze and report on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, machining, fabrication, and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Perform and evaluate root cause and corrective action to correct product/process deficiencies, ensuring implementation with suppliers and effectiveness of actions
  • Perform elements of Advanced Product Quality Planning (Process Flow Diagrams & Failure Mode Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis, and First Article Inspections)
  • Perform SPC, Predictive Quality methodologies, and problem-solving methodologies
  • Implement Zero Defect Plans (ZDP) with critical suppliers, acting as the key technical interface between suppliers and L3Harris by assisting suppliers to develop robust processes, performing process/product validations, recommending manufacturability improvements (process and design).
  • Work with suppliers to ensure First Article Inspection are performed/reported. Resolve issues with purchase order inspection packages as required. Investigate and report supplier quality history as requested.
  • Visit supplier locations to review technical, quality, and other contractual requirements. Ensure the supplier has an adequate understanding of all the requirements. Review the suppliers' plans for adequacy and ensure all requirements are met. This includes, pre-award, post award, manufacturing readiness, process controls, and other periodic reviews as requested.


Essential Functions:

  • Support L3Harris operations when supplied material is identified as nonconforming and take appropriate corrective action(s) with the supplier
  • Work proactively with L3Harris suppliers utilizing tools such as APQP and Zero Defect Planning to mitigate the risk of escapes to L3Harris and/or L3Harris customers.


Qualifications:

  • Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects, and tactics within a team.
  • Bachelors degree and minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to focus, prioritize, and multi-task successfully to drive projects to closure
  • Demonstrated knowledge in CCAs, PWBs, electronics assemblies, Cables/Connectors, etc.
  • Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using standard RCA tools
  • Ability to perform trend analysis
  • Interactive skills, strong written and communication skills


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
  • Experience with Predictive Quality and problem-solving methodologies
  • ISO9001/AS9100 and process audit experience
  • Supplier Development and Engagement experience
  • Ability to synthesize and analyze data from several sources and develop a plan to take action based upon the data.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.

  • Due to the nature of our work, this position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
