Responsibilities:
  • Monitor pneumatic tube and courier deliveries to guarantee timely processing of specimens, addressing any delays or issues promptly.
  • Verify specimens against requisitions or labels for accuracy, and request laboratory information through the Laboratory Information System as required.
  • Investigate and resolve specimen issues, including requesting errors or quality problems, and complete necessary quality forms.
  • Process specimens by centrifugation, label aliquot tubes, transfer samples per policy, and store them at the correct temperatures.
  • Enter specimen receipt times accurately into the computer system and respond to telephone inquiries regarding specimen collection, results, and normal ranges.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations for handling biohazardous samples and sharps, ensuring minimal risk of exposure.


Qualifications:

Required:
  • High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred:
  • Previous experience in a clinical laboratory, physician's office, or other medical environment preferred, including knowledge of or experience in Medical Terminology and Laboratory Information systems.
  • Previous experience in a service environment including call center, customer service center, or product distribution/fulfillment center.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 34
